Life After Launch: CozyCal

In an ongoing Life After Launch series, we interview various alumni about how they’re doing and what they have been up to since their time at Launch.

Chris & Kat, Co-founders of CozyCal.

Who are you?

We are bootstrapping CozyCal as a husband and wife team. CozyCal is a simple, easy-to-use scheduling software that helps businesses to manage appointments, generate leads and accept payments all in one place.

When did you join / leave Launch?

We joined Launch in August 2017 for its three-month program.

Are you still working on the startup you were at Launch?

Yes, we are still working on CozyCal.

How is it doing?

We have a long list of features to build based on customer feedback. Our goal is to build more team scheduling features so we can attract businesses of larger sizes. We are also happy to see that Sam and Ray from Launch Academy are using CozyCal to schedule work meetings and interviews.

Who do you still keep in touch with from your Launch days?

We still keep in touch with Sam who is the VP of Programs at Launch. We are grateful that Sam has given us a lot of valuable feedback and input for CozyCal’s product development and marketing strategies. Plus, Sam is super fun to talk to. He always knows what’s happening in the tech world.

We also keep in touch with Ganesh Swami, the co-founder of Covalent, a startup that provides blockchain transaction data and insights. Ganesh is very insightful and knowledgeable. He was like our mentor at Launch. We invited Ganesh as a featured guest on our podcast Refuel and had an interesting conversation on blockchain technology.

What was the biggest lesson you learned during your time at Launch?

Everybody has their own path and there is no formula for success. You just gotta get stuff done, one day at a time.

What is one piece of advice that you can pass on to fellow #launchcrew members out there?

Find other makers who are a level above you and connect with them. Not only can you stay motivated by being in the circle, you can also learn from others’ mistakes and successes.

When CozyCal becomes a unicorn, can you buy us beer?

We can buy you beer even before CozyCal becomes a unicorn!

What else is new?

About six months ago, we brought onboard a “new member” to the CozyCal team! And her name is Rae. Her current role at CozyCal is Chief of Prioritization. Yup, she really forces us to prioritize our schedule and sharpen our focus. Though emergency diaper calls would often jump to the top of the our to-do list and command our immediate attention. We plan to teach her coding once she learns her alphabet.
